Arnold Bennett famously left Fenton out of his Five Towns, and locals have never let anyone forget it. The joke has worn into affection: Fenton today is one of the most sensibly priced, best-connected corners of the city.
Sitting between Stoke, Longton and Hanley with the A50 running through it, it's become a favourite for commuters and first-time buyers priced out of Penkhull and Trent Vale.
Living there
Victorian terraces around Christchurch Street and the Glebedale Road side offer classic two-up-two-downs, while Heron Cross and Mount Pleasant bring larger family semis. Fenton Manor Sports Complex — with its 50m pool — is a genuine local asset.
